We are happy to introduce our AI heart health assistant feature Nia in the Hello Heart app! Nia was created by Hello Heart to help you understand your blood pressure and heart rate readings, trends, and possible contributors to give general guidance for your wellness and heart health.
Where do I find Nia?
Nia can show up in several places around the app. You can access it through:
- The Nia icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- The banner on the Today tab.
-
After taking a blood pressure reading.
What type of heart-related questions can I ask?
You can ask Nia questions such as:
- What does this blood pressure reading mean?
- Which category does my reading fall into?
- How does this reading compare to the last reading I took?
- What next steps should I take after a high blood pressure reading ?
- Which factors can contribute to high readings?
Why does Nia sometimes show loading dots before answering?
That's Nia thinking. Pink dots appear while generating a response to questions. It usually takes just a few seconds for a response.
Does Nia remember past conversations?
Sessions with Nia will start fresh upon opening, with focus on a new conversation, and past conversations can be referenced when it’s relevant to the topic at hand. Previous chats can also be accessed through the chat history bubble in the top right corner, which shows past conversations in reverse chronological order. Nia is additionally using your in-app data, such as recent readings, to personalize answers within a session.
What are the suggested questions at the bottom of Nia's responses?
Those are quick-reply suggestions. They are follow-up questions Nia offers to keep the conversation going. Tap one to ask the question, or type your own in the reply box.
Can Nia replace my doctor?
No. Nia is a virtual assistant, not a live clinician, that is designed to increase your awareness, education, and empowerment around your general wellness and heart health. While Nia can flag situations that may need professional attention, Nia cannot make a diagnosis, offer treatment guidance, or make medical decisions. It also can't provide information on starting, stopping, or adjusting medications. For urgent or serious concerns, or anytime you need medical advice or care, you should contact your doctor, pharmacist, or another qualified healthcare professional. Nia is powered by an artificial intelligence (AI) system that reviews the health data entered by you in the Hello Heart app to give you relevant, personalized information.
Can Nia help with emergencies?
No. Nia is not designed for emergencies. If you are experiencing severe or life-threatening symptoms, such as chest pain, call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately. For urgent concerns, contact your doctor or another qualified healthcare professional. Nia may suggest seeking care in serious situations, but it cannot monitor your condition in real time, assess rapidly changing symptoms, provide immediate or life-saving care, or connect you with emergency services.
