Learning more about your Pill Box

What’s in the box?

Your order should include the Hello Heart smart Pill Box and a USB-C charging cable. Model numbers for your device can be found on the bottom. The model HHB01 is for once-daily medications. The model  HHB02 is for twice-daily AM/PM medications. If you just received your Pill Box and need to connect it to your phone, visit the article here.

What type of Wi-Fi do I need for connection?

The Pillbox is designed to connect to home 2.4G Wi-Fi networks. It does not support 5G Wi-Fi at this time. If you’re having trouble connecting, be sure to double-check that your password is entered correctly. Public and captive portals are not supported at this time.

How long does the battery last?

The battery lasts for about 14 days and takes approximately 3-5 hours to fully charge. You can continue using your Pill Box while it charges. Please use the provided cable with a wall adapter when you charge it. If you’ve just received your Pill Box and it isn’t turning on, please charge first. If the Pill Box is still unresponsive after charging, please contact our Support team.

How does the firmware for the Pill Box update?

If there are any updates for the Pill Box, new versions will be visible in the app, and it will auto-update over Wi-Fi. Updates won't start if the lid is open or if the battery is under 50%. The light around the lid will flash during an update.

Will the Pill Box still work if I leave the house or take it on a trip?

Your Pill Box keeps tracking wherever you are. When at home, once it is connected to your home Wi-Fi and your phone, it tracks automatically. Also, you can take your day’s compartment along with you and return it to the Pill Box later, and the Pill Box will mark the medication(s) as taken when the cup is returned to its slot.

Important to note: Your Pill Box uses LED lights to visually indicate when it is time to take your medication. Audible alerts and notifications are delivered through the Hello Heart app on your smartphone. For audible alerts to function, your phone must be nearby, powered on, connected via Bluetooth, and the Hello Heart app must be running with notifications enabled and volume turned on. If your phone is off, out of range, or the app is not running, you will not receive audible alerts.

When you’re traveling, bring your Pill Box along. As long as the Pill Box is connected to your phone over Bluetooth, it will keep tracking even if it goes offline for a bit. Be sure to log into the app and have the Pill Box in close proximity when taking your medication over Bluetooth. Your doses should sync afterward.

What if I put a cup back in the wrong slot or backwards?

No problem. Your Pill Box will still work normally if a cup is placed in a different slot or returned backwards. For the most accurate tracking, place each cup back in its labeled day slot.

Caring for and cleaning your Pill Box

To keep your Pill Box in good shape, wipe the case and cups with a soft, dry cloth. Do not get the contact points wet, and never submerge the Pill Box or cups in water. Avoid harsh cleaners. Keep your Pill Box out of extreme heat and away from water, and store it at normal room conditions.

What should I do if my Pill Box or a cup is lost or broken?

If you lose or damage a pill cup or if your Pill Box itself is damaged or not working, contact our Support team and we'll help with next steps.
