Hello Heart can use your health information from Apple Health to help you better understand your heart health. This feature is currently only available on iPhone.
Do I need to turn wearable data sharing on?
Yes. You can manage each type of health information individually from your iPhone:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Then, select the option for Privacy & Security.
- Tap on Health.
- From the list under Apps, tap Hello Heart.
- Toggle each health category on or off.
Do I need a specific wearable?
For most shared health information, you’ll need a wearable that sends data to Apple Health. An Apple Watch is one option, but other wearables may also work when connected to Apple Health.
Keep in mind that wearables can measure different types of health information. If your wearable doesn’t collect a certain type of information, Hello Heart won’t be able to display it.
Can I use a Fitbit, Garmin, Oura Ring, Samsung Galaxy Watch or Whoop?
In many cases, yes. First, you will need to ensure your wearable’s companion app is sharing the collected information with Apple Health.
Fitbit and Samsung Watches can be less reliable in transferring data to Apple Health and may require a third-party bridge app to send information to Apple Health.
Why don’t I see my data?
There are a few possible reasons:
- Your wearable doesn’t measure the selected health information
- The information wasn’t enabled for Hello Heart
- Your wearable hasn’t synced with Apple Health
- Hello Heart hasn’t completed its first sync
Follow the steps below to see if the wearable app fits the criteria needed to sync with the Hello Heart app.
- Check the Apple Health app to make sure your wearable data appears there. If the information isn’t available in Apple Health, Hello Heart won’t be able to retrieve it.
- Next, open your wearable’s companion app and allow it to finish syncing. Then, open the Hello Heart app to refresh your information.
- Wearable data may take up to 1 day to appear.
How do I check the permissions I have given to Hello Heart?
When you connect Apple Health to Hello Heart, you can choose to share all supported health information or only specific types of data.
If you gave permission for only some information, you may see HRV, RHR, or sleep data missing from Hello Heart.
To check your permissions:
- Open the Apple Health app on your iPhone.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Apps and Services.
- Select Hello Heart.
- Review the health information Hello Heart is allowed to read.
- Turn on any missing permissions, or choose to allow access to all supported information.
Then return to the Hello Heart app and refresh your information.
Still not seeing your data?
If the information appears in Apple Health, your Hello Heart permissions are turned on, and more than 1 day has passed, please contact the Hello Heart Support team at support@helloheart.com for additional help.
